An otolaryngologist is a physician who specializes in and performs surgery of the ear, nose and throat. Our doctors are board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Otolaryngology. Our practice is also supported by experienced Physician Assistants and Audiologists servicing both office locations.

Andrew Wakstein
Andrew Wakstein D.O., F.A.O.C.O.

Dr. Wakstein attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for his undergraduate education. Following his degree in Biology he worked as a Headhunter in N.Y.C. for a number of years. He ultimately followed his true passion of medicine and returned to medical school. He graduated from the NOVA-Southern University and then completed his Otolaryngology training at Philadelphia College of Medicine. After graduating from his residency program, Dr. Wakstein moved to the Lehigh Valley area and began a practice in Palmerton, PA. Dr. Wakstein is board certified by the American Osteopathic Colleges of Opthalmology and Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as received his fellowship from the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology. Since starting in private practice, Dr. Wakstein has become very interested in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, sinus surgery, and has one of the largest practices in the area dealing with otosclerosis and stapes reconstruction. He feels that improvement in hearing with a surgical procedure is one of the most special gifts he is able to give someone.

He is married, lives in the Allentown area and has two children.

Eric Holender
Eric Holender D.O., F.A.O.C.O.

Dr. Holender attended Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania for his undergraduate education. Following his graduation where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, he attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at the same institution where he was a residency partner with Dr. Andrew Wakstein. Upon graduation he worked in Northeast Philadelphia for two years at a practice heavily involved in treating traumatic facial injury and plastic surgery. During that time, he was board certified by the American Osteopathic Colleges of Opthalmology and Otolaryngology. He then received his fellowship from the American Osteopathic College of Otolaryngology. Ultimately he went into practice with his former residency partner and they have been together since that time.

Dr. Holender also has a special interest in thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery and sinus surgery. Along with this he has a special interest in rhinoplasty. He feels that form and function must be treated together to obtain the best results.

He is married with three children and lives in the Allentown area.
